Danish design since 1975 and still counting

SPREADING JOY, ONE STEP AT A TIME

Our simple and functional footwear is typical Danish mid-20th century design, and original styles from the company’s inception in 1975 are still being handcrafted alongside new styles. duckfeet® are handcrafted in the EU with quality, durability, and sustainability in mind, and only the very best natural and responsible materials are used.

The story

Inga and Claus Wiechmann founded Wiema Sko, the company behind the duckfeet® brand, in 1975 in Sønderjylland – the southern part of Denmark – and has since been a small family-run company with a lot of personality. duckfeet® is designed and produced based on ideas of simplicity and honesty – a pair of duckfeet® doesn’t pretend to be something they are not. The first styles to be designed and produced were Jylland and Sjælland, and both styles are still produced and sold to this day without any changes to the design. In fact, the pattern for all our shoes has been left unchanged since 1975 when the first pair of Duckfeet saw the light of day. In the mid-1970s, Sønderjylland was a stronghold for shoe production in Denmark. The women sat at home sewing the shafts that were then later assembled at factories. Therefore, it came naturally to Inga and Claus to start their own shoe production in the city Skærbæk in Southern Jutland.
